Christian Education
Do we ever outgrow our need for knowledge about our relationship with God and His Son? No. How can we fill this need and also become an active part of a vital, caring, supportive group? A Sunday School Class, regardless of our age or spiritual maturity will help us grow spiritually and provide us with a loving, and nurturing small group home.
The discussion and study helps us expand our understanding of God's love and care and what He envisions for us to become. Through friendship and fellowship, this group is there when we need support and comfort. They can be our lifeline in difficult times.
Whether you are an infant in arms or a senior citizen, there is a class that welcomes you. Take a look the the Aldersgate Sunday School classes. Did you find one that interests you? Then, why not visit them? They would love to have you!
Friendship Bible
The Friendship Bible Class meets in Classroom #3, off the Fellowship Hall, and is comprised of an active, loving, and caring group of mature adults. We show our caring and concern by sending cards and visiting those who are sick. Each month the class eats at an area restaurant. There are thirty plus active members with many on the roll who are unable to attend because of health or they have moved. These members are remembered with cards and visits. Shut-in members are provided with study literature and each week tapes of the class discussion are distributed to them.
Wesley Class
The Wesley Class meets in the Classroom adjacent to the Nursery and ranges from couples and singles in their 30s-60s and beyond. Discussion is a major part of each class session and members share their thoughts and experiences. Each lesson is self-paced to the needs of the class and we try to make each lesson relevant to our lives. We occasionally gather at members' homes for games and fellowship. We welcome anyone who might enjoy this type of class.
Good News
The Good News Class meets in Classroom #4, off the Fellowship Hall. We participate in discussion oriented lessons with a strong emphasis on the discussion. Our group enjoys a monthly fellowship outing at a local restaurant. Although we are primarily middle-age "empty-nester" singles and couples, we welcome all to come and share the Good News!
Growing in Faith
The Growing in Faith Class meets in Classroom #5, off the Fellowship Hall. We are a class of couples and singles with children ranging in age from teens to young adult. Discussion is encouraged during our classes--laughter is sometimes tolerated! Our class numbers about twenty people with an average attendance of fourteen. New members are always welcome. In addition to our Sunday Class, we eat out frequently, take a canoe trip during the summer, enjoy ice cream socials, and a special get-together at Christmas.
Crusaders Class
The Crusaders Class meets in the Classroom across from the Choir Room, and is a relatively new class. The Crusaders are a group of young-minded couples and singles in their twenties and thirties, many with growing families. Classes are held in an open format that encourages discussion, debate, and sharing life experiences among members to enrich our lives both spiritually and socially. Our members often volunteer and participate in numerous church activities, and fellowship outside of class is something we look forward to. No matter where you are on your own personal crusade, our class welcomes you!
Children and Youth
Our Sunday School program is available for children aged 3and up, with lessons and activities sorted by age. The Nursery is available for children aged 3 and under. The Mid-High and Senior-High youth have regular Sunday School classes.
Confirmation Class begins after the first of the year and is for any youth in sixth grade or above. Confirmation is held in May.
